Questions, answered.
How much tax is deducted from a Rs 100,000 salary in Pakistan?
Rs 500 a month in 2026-27. Rs 100,000 a month is Rs 1,200,000 a year, which falls in the 1% slab, so the yearly tax is Rs 6,000. Your take-home pay is Rs 99,500 a month.
What is the tax on a Rs 200,000 salary in 2026-27?
Rs 13,000 a month, or Rs 156,000 a year. Rs 200,000 a month is Rs 2,400,000 a year: Rs 116,000 on the first Rs 2,200,000, plus 20% of the Rs 200,000 above it. On the 2025-26 slabs it was Rs 13,500 a month.
How much salary is tax-free in Pakistan?
Up to Rs 600,000 a year, which is Rs 50,000 a month. If you earn that or less, you pay no income tax on your salary. The limit is the same in 2026-27 and 2025-26.
When do the 2026-27 tax slabs apply?
From 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027. FBR calls this tax year 2027. The slabs come from the Finance Act 2026, which changes the Income Tax Ordinance 2001.
Is there a surcharge on salary tax in 2026-27?
No. The Finance Act 2026 removed the 9% surcharge that applied to salaried people earning over Rs 10,000,000 a year in 2025-26.
Is a medical allowance taxed?
Not all of it. A medical allowance up to 10% of your basic salary is tax-free, and anything above that is taxed. Leave the tax-free part out of the salary you enter in the calculator.
How does my employer work out my monthly tax?
Most employers take your monthly taxable salary, multiply it by 12, work out the yearly tax from the slabs, and divide it by 12. That's what this calculator does, and it's how Leagrow Payroll works out tax in each pay run.
Is this calculator official?
No. It's a free estimate from Leagrow, using the slabs in the Finance Act 2026 and checked on 26 October 2026. It doesn't include tax credits, other income or tax you've already paid. For your final tax, check your return on FBR's IRIS portal or ask a tax adviser.
Can Leagrow work out salary tax for my whole team?
Yes. Leagrow Payroll works out monthly income tax for every employee on the current slabs, along with EOBI and provincial social security. Employees get their salary tax certificates in the app. It's free for up to 10 people, then $1 per person per month.
