Paid within 14 days
Your employer must pay everything you're owed within 14 days of your contract ending, whoever ended it.
Basic or full wage
Gratuity and unused leave are worked out on basic salary. Salary owed and notice pay are on your full wage, with allowances.
Notice is 30 to 90 days
Your contract sets the notice period, between 30 and 90 days. Probation has its own, shorter notice rules.
If it's late or wrong
Ask your employer for a written breakdown first. If it isn't paid or you disagree, you can file a complaint with MOHRE.

What is included in a UAE final settlement?
Salary for days you worked and weren't paid, your end-of-service gratuity, pay for unused annual leave, and notice pay if your employer didn't give you full notice. Loans or advances you owe, and notice you didn't serve, come off.
How is final settlement calculated in the UAE?
Add each part: unpaid salary at your wage ÷ 30 a day, gratuity on your basic salary, unused leave at basic ÷ 30 a day, and notice pay at your wage ÷ 30 a day. Then take off what you owe your employer.
How long does an employer have to pay the final settlement?
14 days from the end of the contract, under the UAE Labour Law. That applies whether you resigned or your employer ended the contract.
Is final settlement paid on basic or total salary?
Both, for different parts. Gratuity and unused leave use your basic salary. Unpaid salary and notice pay use your full wage, including housing and other allowances.
What if I leave without serving my notice period?
You owe your employer your wage for the days you didn't serve, and it's usually taken off your settlement.
What does a settlement look like after 5 years?
On AED 10,000 basic and AED 5,000 allowances, with 15 days' salary owed, 12 unused leave days, 30 days' notice paid instead and AED 2,000 of loans, the settlement is AED 59,527. The gratuity part is AED 35,027.
